ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਈਮੇਲ ਸਿਸਟਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜੀਬ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਈ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਾਇਬਰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਕੇ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਹੈਕਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਇਹ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਲੀਕ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਐਫਬੀਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਐਫਬੀਆਈ ਦੇ ਬੁਲਾਰੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਤਰਜੀਹ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ “ਸਾਰੇ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਕਦਮ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਿਸਟਮ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਰਹਿਣ ਅਤੇ ਖਤਰੇ ਦਾ ਮੁਲਾਂਕਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।”
