ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਫੈਡਰਲ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ, ਸਿੱਧੂ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਪਾਰ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੈੱਟਵਰਕ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਗਿਰੋਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਰਕਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਰਨਾਕ ਹਾਲਾਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਪ੍ਰੋਸਿਕਿਊਟਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਇਸ ਨੈੱਟਵਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੂਟ, ਪੈਸੇ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਜਨਾਬੰਦੀ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਸੰਚਾਲਕ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਤਸਕਰੀ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਚਲਾਈ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਸਕਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਗਿਰੋਹ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੋਸ਼ਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
