ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ “ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਗਤ” ਗੁਰਸਿਮਰਨ ਮੰਡ ਦੇ ਪਿਓ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਸੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦੀ ਕਰੀਬ 20 ਕਰੋੜ ਦੀ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਹੜੱਪਣ ਲਈ ਧੋਖਾਧੜੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਜਾਅਲੀ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਸੈਨਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਆਮ ਰੁਝਾਨ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਘਿਨਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਜਨੂੰਨੀ ਫਿਰਕੂ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਰਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਫਸਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਤਪਨਾਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ।
ਇਸ ਕੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਠੱਗੀ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੁਰਸਿਮਰਨ ਮੰਡ ਦੇ ਪਿਓ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਕੇਸ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਡੇਢ ਸਾਲ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਦੋਂ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤਕਰਤਾ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ। ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪੌਣਾ ਸਾਲ ਕੇਸ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਲਾਇਆ।
ਇੱਥੋਂ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਲੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
Ludhiana, August 10: The NRI police have arrested a 79-year-old man for committing a property fraud worth crores of rupees. The accused, identified as Bhagwant Singh Maan, a resident of Chhapar Colony, near Dhandra village, was taken into custody after a complaint was registered against him on February 2, 2024, at the NRI police station. The suspects had not been arrested earlier, and he had been absconding since the case was registered.The police received a complaint from Manjit Singh, an NRI based in Canada, alleging that Bhagwant Singh Maan, along with his father, Gurbachan Singh Nagar and Jashbir Singh, had usurped land worth over ₹20 crore belonging to him. The fraud came to light in April 2023 when the accused refused to return the land. Before his arrest, Bhagwant Singh had reportedly harassed Manjit Singh and his family with fake documents.The matter was probed by the NRI wing DSP and further examined and verified by the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and the DGP’s office. The police lodged an FIR against Manjit Singh, Gurbachan Singh, and Jashbir Singh under various sections of the IPC, including cheating and forgery. He wrote many letters to the CM, Bhagwant Singh Mann, “After registering a case, the police were not ready to arrest the suspects despite the fact that we shared information about them,” whereabout many a times with the police.
He revealed that Manjit had illegally transferred a 4,200 square yard land by committing fraud to a third party. The NRI police took action only after victim filed writ in HC against cops over ₹20 crore belonging to a Canada-based NRI. The suspect was arrested on the basis of the documents and committed the fraud in 2018. Before his arrest, he did not respond to calls.
