A property dealer, Charanpreet Singh (31) from Mullanpur, was shot dead in Chandigarh’s Sector 9 on Wednesday. He was getting into his Scorpio after leaving a gym when bike-borne attackers opened fire, shooting around 8 rounds. He collapsed in the driver’s seat after being hit.The incident occurred just minutes away from the Chandigarh Administration and SSP office. Sources say he had received threats earlier.

ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਹਮਲਾਵਰ ਮੋਟਰਸਾਈਕਲ ‘ਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੱਲਾਂਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ‘ਤੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇਵਾਹ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਵਾਰਦਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਜਾਮ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹਮਲਾਵਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਲਗਪਗ ਸੱਤ ਰਾਊਂਡ ਫਾਇਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਫ਼ਰਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
ਘਟਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਬਾਅਦ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੀ ਘੇਰਾਬੰਦੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਫੋਰੈਂਸਿਕ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਸਬੂਤ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਹਮਲਾਵਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਨੇੜਲੀਆਂ ਇਮਾਰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੀਸੀਟੀਵੀ ਕੈਮਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਕਤਲ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਜੇ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਸਕਿਆ ਹੈ, ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਜਾਂ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰੀ ਰੰਜਿਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਫਿਲਹਾਲ ਹੋਰ ਵੇਰਵਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
