Police Assault on Army Colonel: ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਚ ਬੀਤੇ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਅਫ਼ਸਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਟਮਾਰ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਹੋਏ ਕਰਨਲ ਪੁਸ਼ਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਠ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਨਸਾਫ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਨਿੱਚਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਡੀਸੀ ਦਫਤਰ ਮੂਹਰੇ ਧਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਧਰਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵਰਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਕਿ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਐਸਐਸਪੀ ਡਾ. ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਫ਼ੌਰੀ ਤਬਾਦਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਤੇ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਸੀਬੀਆਈ ਤੋਂ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਘਟਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਚਾਰੇ ਇੰਸਪੈਕਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ। ਗ਼ੌਰਤਲਬ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅੰਗਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੀ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਧਰਨੇ ਦੀ ਕਵਰੇਜ ਕਰਨ ਗਏ ਕਈ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਕਰਮੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਥੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬਦਸਲੂਕੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਕਰਮੀ ਮੁਜ਼ਾਹਰੇ ਦਾ ਬਾਈਕਾਟ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵਾਪਸ ਪਰਤ ਗਏ।

ਧਰਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹਨ। ਧਰਨੇ ’ਚ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਕਿ ਐਸਐਸਪੀ ਡਾ. ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਇਥੋਂ ਬਦਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਹਮਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਦੱਸੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਚਾਰੇ ਇੰਸਪੈਕਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਰਫਤਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ। ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਸੀਬੀਆਈ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਮੰਗਾਂ ਮੰਨੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੱਕ ਧਰਨਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਉਧਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਰਨਲ ਬਾਠ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਲਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਕੇਸ ਦਰਜ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਕਰਨਲ ਬਾਠ ਦੇ ਕਹਿਣ ‘ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਉਸ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਂ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।

ਸਾਬਕਾ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਪਰਨੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਅੱਜ ਇੱਥੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਗ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਫੌਜ ਦੇ ਕਰਨਲ ਪੁਸ਼ਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਠ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਪੁੱਤਰ ‘ਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ 12 ਪੁਲੀਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜਾਨਲੇਵਾ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਜਲਦ ਤੋਂ ਜਲਦ ਬਣਦੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ।

ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਕਲੱਬ ਨੇ ਕਰਨਲ ਪੁਸ਼ਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਠ ’ਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਡੀਸੀ ਦਫਤਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਧਰਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ ਬਦਸਲੂਕੀ ਦੀ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਨਿਖੇਧੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਕਰਨਲ ਬਾਠ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਜਸਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਬਾਠ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦੀ ਮਰਿਆਦਾ ਦਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਰੱਖਣ।
ਇਥੇ ਜਾਰੀ ਇਕ ਬਿਆਨ ਵਿਚ ਕਲੱਬ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਨਵਦੀਪ ਢੀਂਗਰਾ ਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਅਹੁਦੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਸਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਬਾਠ ਇਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਕਾਨਫਰੰਸਾਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਨਿਆਂ ਮੰਗ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਉੱਭਰਨ ਸਦਕਾ ਹੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੇਸ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘‘ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਉਹ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ਯੋਗ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਰਤ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਨਿੰਦਣਯੋਗ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਨੀ ਵੀ ਨਿਖੇਧੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੀ ਹੈ’’।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਦਾ ਚੌਥਾ ਥੰਮ ਹੈ। ਇਨਸਾਫ ਦੀ ਲੜਾਈ ਵਿਚ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਮਿਲਣਾ ਹੋਰ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਾਥ ਲੈਣ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਭੰਡਣਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਨਿੰਦਣਯੋਗ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਬੀਬੀ ਜਸਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਬਾਠ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਬਦਸਲੂਕੀ ਤੇ ਬਦਕਲਾਮੀ ਲਈ ਮੁਆਫੀ ਮੰਗਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਬਾਠ ਨੂੰ ‘ਮੀਡੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਥਿਤ ਮੀਡੀਆ’ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਤਰ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।

Inspector Ronni Singh, Inspector Harjinder Dhillon, Inspector Harry Boparai and Inspector Shaminder, an FIR has been registered against them. In addition, they have been suspended and transferred out of the state. The SIT will be headed by ADGP SPS Parmar… Punjab police have given them a security cover of two police personnel with weapons… SIT will investigate, and they will make the arrests.

Colonel Pushpinder’s wife today did a press conference in chandigarh has shared some videos with media. It is clearly seen in the video that Police Personnel who has brutally beaten apologising the colonel wife. The family has appealed to the media and the public to support them in their fight for justice ,stressing that a fair and impartial investigation is necessary to uphold the dignity of the armed forces personnel. Just a day ago, the family has met the governor of Punjab & demanded a CBI probe into the entire matter.
