Addressing reporters on the sidelines of an event in Chandigarh, Bittu, a prominent BJP leader from Punjab, lashed out at the demonstrators who have been staging an indefinite dharna since early November. “These protesters have no connection to the university—they’re not students, not alumni, not even locals with any real interest in PU’s future,” Bittu declared, his voice rising with frustration. “They’ve come here just to ignite chaos, to light fires and run away. The Centre has already addressed almost every demand from the genuine students, but these agitators won’t stop until they’ve dragged the institution through the mud.”
