ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਦਾਇਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਸਿਵਲ ਸਕਿਓਰਿਟੀਜ਼ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਹੈ। ਐਸਈਸੀ ਨੇ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਾਲ ਹੇਗ ਸਰਵਿਸ ਕਨਵੈਨਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਸੰਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਨੂੰ ਰਸਮੀ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਦੋਵੇਂ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ, ਜੋ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਸੰਮਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ।
ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾ 265 ਮਿਲੀਅਨ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਡਾਲਰ ਦੀ ਕਥਿਤ ਰਿਸ਼ਵਤ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਅਡਾਨੀ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਗੌਤਮ ਅਡਾਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਗਰ ਅਡਾਨੀ ਨੇ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਨਵਿਆਉਣਯੋਗ ਊਰਜਾ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਦੇ ਮੁਨਾਫ਼ੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਠੇਕੇ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ। ਐਸਈਸੀ ਨੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਡਾਨੀ ਗਰੀਨ ਐਨਰਜੀ ਲਿਮਟਿਡ ਦੀ ਸਤੰਬਰ 2021 ਦੀ ਬਾਂਡ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਸ਼ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਝੂਠੇ ਅਤੇ ਗੁੰਮਰਾਹਕੁੰਨ ਬਿਆਨ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ। ਐਸਈਸੀ ਨੇ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਸੰਮਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਐਸਈਸੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਾਂਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਹੇਗ ਸਰਵਿਸ ਕਨਵੈਨਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਮਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਾਂਗੇ।” ਅਗਲੀ ਸੁਣਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਤਾਰੀਖ਼ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
SEC Updates U.S. Court on Progress in Serving Legal Documents in Adani CaseNew York, August 12, 2025 – The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has filed a status update with a federal court in New York, detailing efforts to serve legal documents to billionaire Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar Adani in a civil securities case filed last year.The SEC informed the court that it is working through India’s Ministry of Law and Justice under the Hague Service Convention to formally deliver summonses and complaints.
Both individuals, who reside in India, have not yet been officially served.The case centers on an alleged $265 million bribery scheme involving Gautam Adani, head of the Adani Group, and Sagar Adani to secure lucrative renewable energy supply contracts. The SEC alleges that false and misleading statements were made regarding Adani Green Energy Limited’s bond offering in September 2021.
The SEC noted that Indian authorities have not yet completed the request to serve the summonses. “We will continue to coordinate with India’s Ministry of Law and Justice and pursue service of the summonses to the defendants under the Hague Service Convention,” the SEC stated. No date has been set for the next hearing.
