In India, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh called the invitation a “diplomatic setback,” citing Munir’s alleged provocative remarks before the Pahalgam terror attack. Some view the invitation as part of US efforts to counterbalance China’s influence, while others see it as a pragmatic move to strengthen military ties despite past strains, particularly post-Afghanistan withdrawal.
