Investigation: Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday ਦੇ office ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਇਹ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ high-potency THC ਅਤੇ marijuana products ਦੀ stores ਰਾਹੀਂ alleged illegal distribution ਬਾਰੇ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਦਾ ਨਤੀਜਾ ਹੈ। ਜਾਂਚ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ products ਨੂੰ warehouses ਤੋਂ Pennsylvania ਦੇ convenience stores ਅਤੇ smoke shops ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
Money: Investigators ਨੇ alleged illegal business ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਲਗਭਗ $18.7 million ਦੇ proceeds trace ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। Authorities ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਕੁਝ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੇ LLC companies ਨੂੰ front ਵਜੋਂ ਵਰਤਦਿਆਂ cash deposits ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ transactions ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪੈਸੇ ਦਾ ਅਸਲੀ source ਲੁਕਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ।
Seizure: Police ਅਤੇ investigating agencies ਨੇ Plum Borough, Pittston ਅਤੇ Bensalem ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਤਿੰਨ warehouse locations ਤੋਂ ਕਰੀਬ 150,000 THC-related items ਜ਼ਬਤ ਕੀਤੇ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ Pennsylvania ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ convenience stores ਅਤੇ smoke shops ਉੱਤੇ ਵੀ search warrants execute ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ।
Concern: Attorney General ਦੇ office ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਾਂਚ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮਿਲੇ ਕਈ products ਦੀ packaging ਅਤੇ flavours ਅਜਿਹੇ ਸਨ, ਜੋ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਕਰਸ਼ਿਤ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਸਨ।
Accused: Charges ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ Albina Kumar, Duttkumar Patel, Dharmeshkumar Patel, Madhav Patel, Nirav Patel, Palak Patel, Divyesh Patel, Ketankumar Patel, Niravkumar Vora, Roshniben Patel, Ankitkumar Patel ਅਤੇ Mitul Patel ਦੱਸੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Charges: ਸਾਰੇ 12 accused ਉੱਤੇ corrupt organizations ਅਤੇ dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities ਸਮੇਤ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ allegations ਲਗਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਕਈ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ felony drug-trafficking charges ਦਾ ਵੀ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
Operation: ਇਸ investigation ਵਿੱਚ Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office ਦੇ ਨਾਲ DEA, Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Postal Inspectors, Pennsylvania State Police ਅਤੇ ਕਈ county ਤੇ local police departments ਨੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Important: ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ charges ਫਿਲਹਾਲ allegations ਹਨ। Court ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋਸ਼ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋਣ ਤੱਕ ਹਰ accused ਨੂੰ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ innocent ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
