ਬੀਤੇ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਿੱਖ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਟੈਕਸੀ ਚਾਲਕ ਸ. ਰਣਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਲ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਚੌਂਕੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਕੁੱਟਮਾਰ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੜਗੱਜ ਦੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਨੋਟਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਦੁਰਵਿਵਹਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਮੰਦਾ ਬੋਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਡੀਵੀਜਨ 8 ਪੁਲਿਸ ਥਾਣੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਜ ਦੋ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਪਰਚੇ ਦਰਜ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਕੱਤਰੇਤ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰ ਸ. ਜਸਕਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ 26 ਜਨਵਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਵਾਸੀ ਸ. ਰਣਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਟੈਕਸੀ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਗੱਡੀ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਜੀ ਗੱਡੀ ਨਾਲ ਖਹਿ ਵੱਜ ਗਈ ਸੀ।
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਦੂਜੀ ਗੱਡੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਘੇਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਦੁਰਵਿਵਹਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਗੱਡੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੱਗੀ ਕੌਮੀ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਸੰਤ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਭਿੰਡਰਾਂਵਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਤਸਵੀਰ ਪਾੜਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਮੰਦਾ ਬੋਲਿਆ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਫ਼ੋਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਿਆ ਜੋ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਸ. ਰਣਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਗੱਡੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠਾ ਕੇ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਕੈਲਾਸ਼ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਚੌਂਕੀ ਲੈ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਬੁਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੁੱਟਮਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਸ. ਜਸਕਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਸ. ਰਣਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਾਈ ਗਈ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੇ ਰੋਸ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਨੋਟਿਸ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੜਗੱਜ ਨੇ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਸਵਪਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਰੋਸ ਵਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੇ ਪੀੜਤ ਸਿੱਖ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਦੇਣਗੇ। ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਸ. ਰਣਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਪਰਚਾ ਦਰਜ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੜਗੱਜ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅੰਦਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਧੱਕਾ ਬਰਦਾਸ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਧਰਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਮੰਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਅਨਸਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੱਲ੍ਹਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਹੈ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹੀ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਆਮ ਲੋਕ ਨਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ ?

Following the strict notice taken by the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj, in connection with the assault of a Sikh youth taxi driver, S. Ranjot Singh, at a police post in Ludhiana a few days ago, two separate FIRs have today been registered at Division 8 Police Station, Ludhiana, against the accused police personnel as well as the accused individuals who misbehaved with the youth and made derogatory remarks about the Sikh faith.
Sharing details in this regard, Media Advisor to Secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Jaskaran Singh, said that on January 26, Ludhiana resident Ranjot Singh, who is a taxi driver, was travelling within Ludhiana city when his vehicle brushed against another vehicle. Following this, three individuals from the other vehicle blocked and stopped him in his way, misbehaved with him, attempted to tear the photograph of Qaumi Shaheed Sant Giani Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale affixed on his vehicle, and made derogatory remarks about the Sikh faith. He said that the accused individuals then called the police, who took Ranjot Singh from the spot in their vehicle to the Kailash police post in Ludhiana city, where he was brutally beaten.
Jaskaran Singh said that taking serious note of the video posted by Ranjot Singh regarding the incident and the protests held by his family seeking action against the police personnel and the accused individuals, the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj, spoke to the Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, Shri Swapan Sharma, and asked him to take immediate and strict action in the matter. He also stated that if prompt action was not taken, he himself would reach the protest site to stand in solidarity with the victim Sikh. Following this, Ludhiana Police registered cases against the police personnel and the accused individuals on the complaint of Ranjot Singh.
Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj said that any injustice against a Sikh youth in Punjab cannot be tolerated, and that the administration must take action against those who harbour ill will towards any faith. He said there is a need to curb such anti-social elements. He further stated that if the very police personnel entrusted with upholding the law themselves violate it, then where will the common people go to seek justice?
