ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਚਾਰ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਏਸ਼ਿਆਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਇਸੇ ਕੜੀ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਕੈਲਗਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਇਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੇ ਬੋ ਵੈਲੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਟਰੇਨ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਪਲੈਟਫ਼ਾਰਮ ’ਤੇ ਲੜਕੀ ਦਾ ਗਲ਼ਾ ਘੁੱਟਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਦਾ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ’ਤੇ ਵਾਇਰਲ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਕਈ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਪੋਸਟਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੀੜਤ ਲੜਕੀ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਵਾਇਰਲ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਵਿਚ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਨੀਲੇ ਰੰਗ ਦੀ ਜੈਕੇਟ ਅਤੇ ਗੂੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਲੇਟੀ ਰੰਗ ਦਾ ਟਰਾਊਜ਼ਰ ਪਾਈ ਇਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੇ ਲੜਕੀ ’ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਂਝ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਹਮਲਾਵਰ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕੀ ਹੈ।
ਹੈਰਾਨੀ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਨੇੜੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਇਸ ਲੜਕੀ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਅੱਗੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ। ਹਮਲਾਵਰ ਨੇ ਪਲੈਟਫ਼ਾਰਮ ’ਤੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ‘ਭਾਰਤੀ’ ਲੜਕੀ ’ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਇਸ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਜੇ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਸਕਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰ ਵੇਰਵਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।

ਇਹ ਵੀਡੀਉ ਕੈਲਗਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਮ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਲੈਕੇ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਧਿਆਨ ਮੰਗਦੀ ਹੈ। ਅਫਸੋਸ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੁਲਕ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਮੀਗਰਾਂਟਸ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਾਫੀ ਵਧੀ ਹੈ, ਮੁਲਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸਮਸਿਆਵਾਂ ਲਈ ਇਮੀਗਰਾਂਟਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਸੂਰਵਾਰ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਅੱਜ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਮੁਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਭਦੇ ਲਈ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ
Visuals have emerged from the City Hall/Bow Valley College Train Station in Calgary, Canada, where a man violently pushed a girl on the platform. Shockingly, no one nearby stepped in to help her. Several social media posts claim that the girl is of Indian origin.
This is what woke Canada has created—a society where men can’t even stand up for a woman being roughed up by a thief in public.
And of course, the usual “do-nothings” will show up to say no one should get involved.

ਲੰਘੇ ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਕੈਲਗਰੀ ਦੇ ਰੇਲਵੇ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਤੇ ਵਾਪਰੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੇ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਲਗਰੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬ੍ਰੇਡਨ ਜੋਸਫ਼ ਜੇਮਜ਼ (31) ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੁੜੀ ਦੇ ਬਿਆਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਉਪਰ ਲੁੱਟ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਦਰਜ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਪੁਲਿਸ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਹੋਰ ਪਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਤਫਤੀਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
Update from Calgary Police: A woman was assaulted in an attempted robbery at Calgary’s 3rd Street S.E. CTrain station on Sunday, March 23. At around 1:40 p.m., a man splashed water in her face, grabbed her, and demanded her phone before fleeing. With help from witnesses, police arrested 31-year-old Braydon Joseph James French in East Village within 25 minutes. He has been charged with attempted robbery. The incident is not believed to be racially motivated, but the Diversity Resource Team is engaging with the community. The victim is safe and requesting privacy.
We are aware of a video circulating on social media that depicts an incident involving a woman standing on a downtown CTrain station platform.
📍On Sunday, March 23, 2025, at approx. 1:40 p.m., the victim was standing on the south side of the Third Street S.E. CTrain station, located at 310C Seventh Ave. S.E., when she was approached by an unknown man who grabbed her water bottle & splashed her in the face with it. He then grabbed her & began shaking her while demanding her cellphone.
The man fled the scene without the victim’s cellphone & the victim subsequently called police.
Witnesses helped locate the suspect & a short time later the man was arrested in East Village.
📌 As a result, Braydon Joseph James FRENCH, 31, of Calgary, has been charged with 1 count of attempted robbery. At this time the incident is not believed to be racially motivated, however, our Diversity Resource Team is engaging with those in the community who are impacted by this incident.
The victim has been offered supports & is respectfully asking for privacy.
“Thanks to the support of witnesses in the area & to the swift actions of our members, we were able to make an arrest within 25 minutes of this incident,” says Calgary Police Service District 1 Inspector Jason Bobrowich. “These types of incidents cause concern in the community & will not be tolerated in our city.”
