ਲੰਡਨ: ਪਿਛਲੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਦੇ ਵੈਸਟ ਮਿਡਲੈਂਡਜ਼ ਖੇਤਰ ਦੇ ਓਲਡਬਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਸਿੱਖ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਨਸਲੀ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਜਬਰ ਜਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਲੋਕਾਂ, ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਵੈਸਟ ਮਿਡਲੈਂਡਜ਼ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਸ਼ੁੱਕਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀਆਂ ਵੀਰਵਾਰ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਕਾਉਂਟੀ ਦੇ ਹੇਲੇਸੋਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ 30 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਦੂਜੇ ਜਬਰ ਜਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਬੰਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਸਲੀ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੋੜੇ ਨੂੰ 20 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਸਿੱਖ ਔਰਤ ‘ਤੇ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੇ ਸਬੰਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ 9 ਸਤੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੈਂਡਵੈੱਲ ਦੇ ਓਲਡਬਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਟੇਮ ਰੋਡ ‘ਤੇ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਸ਼ੋਸ਼ਣ ਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਸ਼ੁੱਕਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਬਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੈਂਡਵੈੱਲ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕ 49 ਸਾਲਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ 65 ਸਾਲਾ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਜਬਰ ਜਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਮ 7 ਵਜੇ (ਸਥਾਨਕ ਸਮੇਂ ਵੀਰਵਾਰ) ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ, ਜਦੋਂ ਇੱਕ 30 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਹਰਸਟ ਗ੍ਰੀਨ ਪਾਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਮਲਾ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਸਲੀ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਭੜਕਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ (ਸ਼ੁੱਕਰਵਾਰ) ਮੰਗਲਵਾਰ, 9 ਸਤੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਓਲਡਬਰੀ ਦੇ ਟੇਮ ਰੋਡ ‘ਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਜਬਰ ਜਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਬੰਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪੁੱਛਗਿੱਛ ਲਈ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ,” ਬਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਪਿਛਲੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਹੋਏ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਹਮਲੇ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਗੋਰੇ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹਮਲਾਵਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਪੀੜਤ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ, ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲ ਜਾਓ”, ਨੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਦਮੇ ਦੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਫੈਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ।
ਯੂਕੇ ਦੇ ਅਪਰਾਧ-ਲੜਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਚੈਰਿਟੀ ਕ੍ਰਾਈਮਸਟੌਪਰਸ ਨੇ ਨਸਲੀ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਭੜਕਾਏ ਗਏ ਜਬਰ ਜਨਾਹ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਲਈ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲਈ ਇਨਾਮ ਵਜੋਂ 20,000 ਪੌਂਡ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਗਠਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ‘ਤੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਫੁਟੇਜ ਲਈ 10,000 ਪੌਂਡ ਦਾ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਇਨਾਮ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਦੋਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਯੂਕੇ ਸੰਸਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਠਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਸ਼ਬਾਨਾ ਮਹਿਮੂਦ ਨੇ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਜਾਤੀ ਜਾਂ ਜਾਤੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਭਿਆਨਕਤਾ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਹੈ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਦਨ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਤੋਂ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨਸਲੀ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਜਾਂ ਹਿੰਸਾ ਲਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਭੜਕਾਹਟ ਦਾ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗੀ।

“It is a shame these arrests have taken so long and only came after another woman in her 30s was raped yesterday in Halesowen.”
“Previously a man in his 30s was arrested by the police on 14 September and a couple of days later released on bail without charge pending further enquiries.”
“We hope this time the police have sufficient evidence to charge those responsible for these disgusting attacks and rapes of two young women.”
“We will continue to keep up the pressure until the perpetrators of these crimes are successfully prosecuted and behind bars.”
