In a significant breakthrough against trans-border narco-smuggling amidst the ongoing anti-drugs ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign launched on the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Bathinda Police has busted an international drug cartel being operated by foreign-based smuggler with the arrest of its six key drug traffickers and recovered 40 kg Heroin from their Toyota Fortuner car, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Tuesday.
Those arrested have been identified as Lakhvir Singh alias Lakha (33), Prabhjot Singh (26), Ranjodh Singh (27), Akash Marwaha (21), Rohit Kumar (25), and Gurcharan Singh alias Guri (27), all residents of Malout in Sri Muktsar Sahib. Accused persons Lakhvir Singh and Prabhjit Singh have criminal background with cases pertaining to Arms Act and NDPS Act registered against them respectively.

Bathinda Police arrest 6 drug smugglers: ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਖੇਪ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕਰ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਛੇ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ 40 ਕਿਲੋ ਹੈਰੋਇਨ ਰਿਕਵਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ
ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਐਸਐਸਪੀ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਦੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਵੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ ਦਈਏ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅੱਜ ਸਵੇਰ ਤੜਕਸਾਰ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਣਾ ਚੌਂਕ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਨੱਥਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਾਲੀ ਗਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਦੇ ਅਧਾਰ ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਫੋਰਚੂਨਰ ਗੱਡੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੈੱਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਤਸਕਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਰੋ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪੁੱਛਗਿੱਛ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ ਤੋਂ 40 ਕਿਲੋ ਹੀਰੋਇਨ ਵੀ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ
ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਐਸਐਸਪੀ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਦੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਤਸਕਰ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਹਿਰੋਇਨ ਦੀ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਛੇ ਗਿਰੋ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ
ਇਸ ਰਿਕਵਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਐਸ ਐਸ ਪੀ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਦੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਰਿਕਵਰੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ
ਐਸ ਐਸ ਪੀ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਦੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੋਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਨਯੋਗ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਕੇ ਰਿਮਾਂਡ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਅਹਿਮ ਖੁਲਾਸੇ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਹੈ।
