Toronto Police Seek 29-Year-Old Gangadhar Babu in Alleged $800,000 Psychic Scam
ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ‘ਚ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ 8 ਲੱਖ ਡਾਲਰ ਦੀ ਠੱਗੀ ਮਾਰਨ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਹੇਠ 29 ਸਾਲਾ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਤਾਂਤਰਿਕ ਗੰਗਾਧਰ ਬਾਬੂ ਦੀ ਟਰਾਂਟੋ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਲੋਂ ਭਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਠੱਗੀਆਂ ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ 2024 ਤੋਂ ਸਤੰਬਰ 2025 ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਇਹ ਭਾਰਤ ਫਰਾਰ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਗੰਗਾਧਰ ਬਾਬੂ ਇੱਕ ਤਾਂਤਰਿਕ, ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੱਸਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਜੋਤਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਇਲਾਜ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਗਾਹਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਬਹੁਤੀ ਵਾਰ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਚੱਲ ਕੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ।
ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਦਾ ਹੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪੈਸੇ ਲੈ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਰਾਵੇ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਹੋਰ ਪੈਸੇ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਤਾਂ ਗਾਹਕ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਕ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਅਣਹੋਣੀ ਵਾਪਰ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਉਸਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਈਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਤੇ ਕਈਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਡਾਲਰ ਠੱਗੇ ਹਨ।

* ਦਾੜ੍ਹੀ: ਛੋਟੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਹੋਈ
* ਪਛਾਣ: ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਦੰਦਾਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਫ਼ਾਸਲਾ
ਟੋਰਾਂਟੋ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ 416-808-3200 ‘ਤੇ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।

Toronto Police are searching for 29-year-old Gangadhar Babu, who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant in connection with an alleged psychic and fortune-telling scam.
Police allege that between April 2024 and September 2025, Babu posed as a psychic, fortune teller and spiritual healer while operating a business called “Indian Psychic and Spiritual Healer.”
Investigators allege that he gained a victim’s trust by exploiting their belief in supernatural powers. Through elaborate rituals and frightening claims, he allegedly convinced the victim that they and their loved ones would face death or serious harm unless they continued paying him for “spiritual protection.”
According to a media report, the victim allegedly lost more than C$800,000. However, the official Toronto Police release does not specify the exact amount and refers to one identified victim. Police believe there may be additional victims.
Babu is wanted for:
Fraud over $5,000
Possession of proceeds obtained by crime over $5,000
Laundering proceeds of Canadian crime
He is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall with a slim build, dark curly hair, dark-brown eyes, a trimmed beard and a noticeable gap between his front teeth.
