During the Sunday congregation at Gurdwara Sahib Dasmesh Darbar in Surrey, an incident occurred where a Hindu youth suddenly removed and threw away his head covering in the packed congregation and started shouting pro-Hindutva slogans.
The congregation present at the scene escorted him out, but he managed to come back inside. He was caught again and taken behind the Langar Hall, where the police were called, and he was arrested. The police are now investigating the matter.
Before his arrest, the young man started behaving in a way similar to mentally disturbed individuals who claim to be possessed or influenced by spiritual entities.
A similar incident had taken place a few weeks ago as well. The Gurdwara management suspects that this is not merely the case of a mentally ill person but a deliberate attempt to create disruption. They are worried that if, in the future, any member of the congregation reacted strongly, it could be used to defame the Sikh community.
An eyewitness reported that videos related to the Hindu-Sikh tensions in Toronto from a few months ago were found on the youth’s phone. Additionally, his phone revealed that he was part of some provocative WhatsApp groups.
The youth reportedly stated at the scene that someone had sent him there with instructions to create a disturbance so that the Sikhs would harm him, making him a “martyr” for Hindus. Many witnesses were present during this statement.
According to an eyewitness, he repeated the same statement to the police.
The Gurdwara management has urged the congregation to remain vigilant and composed while also appealing to the police to take this matter seriously.
They have also warned other Gurdwara committees to stay alert as similar incidents could happen elsewhere.
ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਐਤਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਦੀਵਾਨ ‘ਚ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਸਮੇਸ਼ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਰੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਵਾਪਰੀ ਇੱਕ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਇੱਕ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਨੇ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਭਰੇ ਦੀਵਾਨ ‘ਚ ਰੁਮਾਲ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤੇ ਹਿੰਦੂਵਾਦੀ ਨਾਅਰੇ ਲਾਉਣੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਲੋਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਫਿਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਆ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸਨੂੰ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਲੰਗਰ ਹਾਲ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲਿਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਸੱਦ ਕੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕਰਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਹੁਣ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇਹ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਹਰਕਤਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ, ਜਿਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਭੂਤ ਜਾਂ ਬਾਬੇ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਰੋਗੀ ਅਕਸਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੁਝ ਹਫਤੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕਾ। ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਰੋਗੀ ਦਾ ਕਿੱਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਲਕਿ ਜਾਣਬੁੱਝ ਕੇ ਖਲਲ ਪਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ਰਾਰਤ ਹੈ। ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਨੂੰ ਜੇਕਰ ਸੰਗਤ ‘ਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਕਨੂੰਨ ਹੱਥ ‘ਚ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਬਦਨਾਮੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
ਇੱਕ ਚਸ਼ਮਦੀਦ ਗਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਸਦੇ ਫੋਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਟਰਾਂਟੋ ‘ਚ ਹੋਏ ਹਿੰਦੂ-ਸਿੱਖ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਦੀਆਂ ਵੀਡੀਓਜ਼ ਸਨ। ਇਸਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਫੋਨ ‘ਚੋਂ ਲੱਭਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਭੜਕਾਊ ਵੱਟਸਅਪ ਗਰੁੱਪਾਂ ‘ਚ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸੀ।
ਉਸਨੇ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਰੌਲਾ ਪਾ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਿਰ ਲਾਹ ਦੇਣਗੇ, ਇਸ ਤਰਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ। ਇਸ ਵਾਰਤਾ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਗਵਾਹ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹਨ।
ਇੱਕ ਚਸ਼ਮਦੀਦ ਗਵਾਹ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਉਸਨੇ ਇਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਕਹੀ।
ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੰਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਖਿਆਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਿਜ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੰਭੀਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਮਸਲਾ ਵਿਚਾਰਨ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਥਾਂ ਵੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੋਰ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਵੀ ਖਿਆਲ ਰੱਖਣ।

ਪਹਿਲੀ ਅਰਜ਼ੀ 30 ਨਵੰਬਰ, 2024 ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੀ 16 ਦਸੰਬਰ, 2024 ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ।
ਕੇਂਦਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਸੰਸਦੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਤਹਿਤ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਪਟੀਸ਼ਨ ’ਤੇ ਸੁਣਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
