ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ, 6 ਸਤੰਬਰ 2025: ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ 40 ਸਾਲਾਂ ‘ਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। 23 ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦੇ 1,400 ਪਿੰਡ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ, 37 ਮੌਤਾਂ, 3.54 ਲੱਖ ਲੋਕ ਪ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ। ਰਾਵੀ, ਬਿਆਸ, ਸਤਲੁਜ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਉਫਾਨ ਨੇ 3.71 ਲੱਖ ਏਕੜ ਫਸਲਾਂ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ, ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ। ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਗਠਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਯਤਨ: ਫੌਜ, NDRF, BSF ਨੇ 21,000 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਇਆ। 122 ਰਾਹਤ ਕੈਂਪ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ। ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ 60,000 ਕਰੋੜ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ। ਸਿੱਖ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਏਡ, ਯੂਨਾਈਟਿਡ ਸਿੱਖਸ, ਗਲੋਬਲ ਸਿੱਖਸ ਨੇ ਰਾਹਤ ਕਾਰਜ ਸੰਭਾਲੇ। ਖਾਲਸਾ ਏਡ ਨੇ 1,000 ਏਕੜ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਸੁਕਾਈ, ਰਾਸ਼ਨ, ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਲਈ ਚਾਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਦਵਾਈਆਂ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਈਆਂ। ਯੂਨਾਈਟਿਡ ਸਿੱਖਸ ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ‘ਚ ਮੋਬਾਈਲ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਯੂਨਿਟ ਚਲਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਸਿੱਖ ਸੇਲੇਬ੍ਰਿਟੀਜ਼ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ: ਦਿਲਜੀਤ ਦੋਸਾਂਝ (10 ਪਿੰਡ ਗੋਦ), ਅੰਮੀ ਵਿਰਕ (200 ਘਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਵਾਅਦਾ), ਸੋਨੂੰ ਸੂਦ (ਹੈਲਪਲਾਈਨ) ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਿੱਖ ਸਟਾਰ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
Punjab, is grappling with its worst flood crisis in nearly four decades, described as the most severe since 1988. The floods, triggered by heavy monsoon rains in the upper catchment areas of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, coupled with surplus water releases from dams like Pong, Ranjit Sagar, and Bhakra, have inundated over 1,400 villages across all 23 districts of the state.
As of September 5, 2025, at least 37 people have died, and over 354,000 residents have been affected. Approximately 371,475 acres of farmland, primarily paddy fields, have been submerged, causing significant crop losses. Livestock losses have also severely impacted rural households dependent on dairy and animal husbandry.
Districts like Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Ferozepur, Pathankot, Kapurthala, Fazilka, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, and Rupnagar are among the most affected, with rivers like the Ravi, Beas, and Sutlej overflowing.
The Sikh community, rooted in the principle of seva (selfless service), has been at the forefront of flood relief efforts in Punjab, with several Sikh organizations and individuals mobilizing to provide aid.
