ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਇੱਕ ਭਗੌੜਾ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਸਟਰੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਟਾਲਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ 13.09.2024 ਨੂੰ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡਾ, ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਾਤਿਰ ਆਰੋਪੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਟਰੀਆ ਤੋਂ ਡਿਪੋਰਟ ਕਰਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਭਗੌੜਾ ਕਰਾਰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਮੂਲ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿੰਡ ਭੋਮਾ ਥਾਣਾ ਘੁੰਮਣ ਦਾ ਵਸਨੀਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਆਸਟਰੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਬਟਾਲਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਿਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਡੀਜੀਪੀ ਗੌਰਵ ਯਾਦਵ ਨੇ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਅਕਾਊਂਟ ਐਕਸ ‘ਤੇ ਪੋਸਟ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਹ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਤਲ, ਇਰਾਦਾ ਕਤਲ, ਨਸ਼ਾ ਤਸਕਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਲਾ ਐਕਟ ਸਮੇਤ ਕਈ ਘਿਨਾਉਣੇ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੈ।
2022 ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁਬਈ ਰਸਤੇ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਆਸਟਰੀਆ
ਐਸਐਸਪੀ ਬਟਾਲਾ ਸੁਹੈਲ ਕਾਸਿਮ ਮੀਰ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਆਰੋਪੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਗੌੜਾ ਐਲਾਨਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਹ 2022 ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁਬਈ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਬੀਆ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਆਸਟਰੀਆ ਭੱਜ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਿਚ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਹੁਣ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਗਿੱਛ ਕਰੇਗੀ।
ਪੁਲੀਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਕਾਫੀ ਸ਼ਾਤਿਰ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਲੈਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਤੱਕ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਪੀਲ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਭਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਜ਼ੋਰਦਾਰ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਿਆ।

Amritpal Singh has been involved in various heinous crimes, including murder, attempted murder, drug offenses, and violations under the Arms Act. His deportation is a significant step toward ensuring justice for the victims.
Reaffirming its commitment to ensuring justice is served as per the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab Police in coordination with Central Agencies has successfully deported fugitive Amritpal Singh, a resident of Village Bhoma in Batala, from Austria to face charges in numerous heinous crimes. The latter has been landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi at 7am on Friday, and has been taken into custody by the Batala Police.
“After tireless efforts by @PunjabPoliceInd in coordination with central agencies, Amritpal Singh resident of Village Bhoma, PS Ghuman, has been successfully deported from #Austria to #India to face charges in numerous serious criminal cases,” informed Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav in a post on his X handle (formerly Twitter).
Pertinently, accused Amritpal Singh is a proclaimed offender (PO) staying illegally in Austria.
DGP Gaurav Yadav said that the deported accused has been involved in various heinous crimes, including murder, attempted murder, drug offences, and violations under the Arms Act. His deportation is a significant step toward ensuring justice for the victims, he added.
The DGP commended the strenuous efforts of the entire team of Batala Police led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Batala Suhail Qasim Mir and Internal Security Wing of Punjab Police for bringing fugitive Amritpal Singh back to India to face justice.
Sharing more details, SSP Batala Suhail Qasim Mir said the accused Amritpal Singh, who was declared PO in several cases, had fled to Austria via Dubai and Serbia in 2022, and had been evading arrest since then. The latter had also applied for political asylum there, he added.
“After sustained efforts and cooperation with the international authorities, Punjab Police has ensured his repatriation to India to face justice,” said the SSP
