ਤਾਜ਼ਾ ਖ਼ਬਰਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, 24 ਜੂਨ 2025 ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਉਦੈਪੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ 30 ਸਾਲਾ ਫਰਾਂਸੀਸੀ ਸੈਲਾਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਬਲਾਤਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਵਾਪਰੀ। ਇਹ ਘਟਨਾ ‘ਦ ਗਰੀਕ ਫਾਰਮ ਕੈਫੇ ਐਂਡ ਰੈਸਟੋਰੈਂਟ’ ਵਿਖੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਾਪਰੀ, ਜੋ ਬਦਗਾਓਂ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਟਾਈਗਰ ਹਿੱਲ ‘ਤੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ।
ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ, ਜਿਸਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਪੁਸ਼ਪਰਾਜ ਓਝਾ ਉਰਫ ਸਿੱਧਾਰਥ ਵਜੋਂ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਨੇ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਪਾਰਟਮੈਂਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਜਬਰਦਸਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਜਬਰਦਸਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਹ ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਇੱਕ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਲਾਜ ਅਧੀਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਥਿਰ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਦੀ ਭਾਲ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਫਰਾਰ ਹੈ।
ਇਹ ਘਟਨਾ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ 22 ਜੂਨ 2025 ਨੂੰ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਟਰੈਵਲ ਅਡਵਾਈਜ਼ਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਾਪਰੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ, ਖਾਸਕਰ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਕੇਲੇ ਸਫਰ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਅਡਵਾਈਜ਼ਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਲਾਤਕਾਰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਧ ਰਹੇ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਲਾਨੀ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਕਈ ਥਾਵਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਹਿੰਸਕ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
A 30-year-old French tourist was allegedly raped in Udaipur, Rajasthan, on June 23, 2025, by an event management company employee named Pushparaj Ojha, also known as Siddharth, who is currently absconding. The incident occurred after a party at The Greek Farm Café & Restaurant in the Tiger Hill area under Badgaon police station jurisdiction. The woman, in Udaipur for an advertisement shoot and staying at a hotel in the Ambamata area since June 22, was lured by the accused under the pretext of showing her the city. Instead, he took her to his rented apartment in Sukher, where the assault took place. According to the FIR, the victim’s phone battery was dead, preventing her from seeking help, and despite her repeated requests to return to her hotel, the accused refused. She was assaulted after refusing his advances, and he dropped her back at her hotel around 6 AM on June 24. The woman sought medical attention at a private hospital, where she was reported stable, and hospital staff alerted the police. An FIR was filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and a medical examination was conducted. Udaipur SP Yogesh Goyal confirmed that the police are reviewing CCTV footage and questioning witnesses, with the French embassy notified for consular support.
