Prime Minister Carney: You can’t sell the Canadian Charter at the bargaining table.
1) Canada must not trade away the Charter and sovereignty for a faster trade reset.
2) Normalization without transparency signals that state-linked violence and interference are “manageable friction.”
3) The real test is accountability: answers and consequences first, deals second.
This is a rule-of-law issue, not a vibe issue. If Canadian officials were presented with evidence that Indian consular staff in Vancouver supplied information tied to the Nijjar assassination, Canada cannot act like this is just another diplomatic dispute to smooth over.
-India denies involvement, but denial is not resolution. Moving ahead without public clarity and credible consequences risks telling Canadians—especially communities who feel targeted—that their safety becomes negotiable when economic upside is big enough.
-The government’s credibility is the stake. A trade-first posture, before Canadians have answers, creates the perception that rights and security can be discounted to unlock a “reset.”

ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਡੋਨਲਡ ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਸੋਮਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵ੍ਹਾਈਟ ਹਾਊਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਰਾਨ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਫੌਜੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਅਗਲੇ 4 ਤੋਂ 5 ਹਫਤਿਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਹੈ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਲੋੜ ਪਈ ਤਾਂ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਇਸ ਜੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ। ਟਰੰਪ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਬਿਆਨ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੱਧ-ਪੂਰਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਬੇਕਾਬੂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
