In an unverified post on social media, the Lawrence Bishnoi group’s gangster Goldy Dhillon has purportedly claimed responsibility for killing Darshan Singh Sahsi of Abbotsford BC, as he “ignored their extortion demands.”
Speaking to The Indian Express over phone Sahsi’s younger son Arpan Sahsi, said that they strongly deny the claims of his father receiving any such threat/extortion calls. He said that the family won’t allow his father’s “name to be tarnished.”
“We are still looking for answers. We completely deny all such talks which are going on. My father or anyone from our family never received any threat, extortion, or ransom call from any gangster etc. No one, absolutely no one, benefits from killing my father. He was a man who just always gave back to society. People who know him really know who he was,” said Arpan, who also serves as managing director in his father’s company.
“The police are investigating the matter and we would not like to make any statement during the ongoing probe but yes, we strongly deny claims of him receiving threat/ransom calls from any gangster etc,” said Arpan.

ਇੱਕ ਫੇਸਬੁੱਕ ਪੋਸਟ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਹ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਲਈ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਾਹਸੀ ਪੈਸੇ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਅੱਗਿਓਂ ਲਲਕਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਨੰਬਰ ਬਲ਼ੌਕ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਹਸੀ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਸਦਮੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ, ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਹਸੀ ਦੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਰਪਨ ਸਾਹਸੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਧਮਕੀ/ਜਬਰੀ ਵਸੂਲੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਲ ਆਉਣ ਦੇ ਦਾਅਵਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਖ਼ਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਕਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ “ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।”
‘ਅਸੀਂ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਜਵਾਬ ਲੱਭ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਫੈਲਾਈਆਂ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਜਾਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰ ਆਦਿ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਧਮਕੀ, ਜਬਰੀ ਵਸੂਲੀ ਜਾਂ ਫਿਰੌਤੀ ਦੀ ਕਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੀ।”
“ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਧਮਕੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਚੁੱਪ ਰਹਿਣ ਜਾਂ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਅਣਗੌਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਪੜਤਾਲ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲਗਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ”।
