ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਇਨਵੈਸਟੀਗੇਸ਼ਨ ਏਜੰਸੀ (NIA) ਨੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਮੰਦਿਰ ‘ਤੇ 15 ਮਾਰਚ 2025 ਨੂੰ ਹੋਏ ਗ੍ਰਨੇਡ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਸ਼ਰਨਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਉਰਫ਼ ਸੰਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰੀ ਬਿਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਗਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਫੀਆ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰ ‘ਤੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਸ਼ਰਨਜੀਤ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਬਟਾਲਾ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਭੈਣੀ ਬਾਂਗਰ ਦਾ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਨੇ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ ਸੀ। ਹਮਲਾ ਦੋ ਮੋਟਰਸਾਈਕਲ ਸਵਾਰ ਹਮਲਾਵਰਾਂ, ਗੁਰਸਿਦਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਗਿੱਲ, ਨੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਹੈਂਡਲਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। NIA ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਸ਼ਰਨਜੀਤ ਨੇ 1 ਮਾਰਚ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਰ ਗ੍ਰਨੇਡਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੇਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਹਮਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਦਿਨ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਗ੍ਰਨੇਡ ਹਮਲਾਵਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਟਾਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ NIA ਦੀਆਂ ਤਲਾਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਫਰਾਰ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਅਤੇ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਖੁਫੀਆ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਟਰੇਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹ ਹਮਲਾ, ਜੋ ਯੂਰਪ, ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈਂਡਲਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸਾਜ਼ਿਸ਼ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਸੀ, ਦਾ ਮਕਸਦ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਸਦਭਾਵਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਥਿਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ। ਅੱਤਵਾਦੀ ਨੈਟਵਰਕ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜਨ ਲਈ ਹੋਰ ਜਾਂਚ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ।
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Sharanjit Kumar, alias Sunny, a key accused in the March 15, 2025, Amritsar temple grenade attack. The arrest was made in Gaya, Bihar, following an intelligence-led operation. Sharanjit, a resident of Bhaini Bangar village in Qadian, Batala (Gurdaspur district), Punjab, was actively involved in planning and executing the attack, which was carried out by two bike-borne assailants, Gursidak Singh and Vishal Gill, under the direction of foreign-based handlers. The NIA stated that Sharanjit received a consignment of four grenades on March 1 and handed one to the assailants days before the attack. He had been evading arrest since NIA searches in Batala a month ago but was traced through human and technical intelligence. The attack, part of a transnational conspiracy involving handlers in Europe, the USA, and Canada, aimed to destabilize communal harmony. Further investigations are ongoing to dismantle the terror network.
