ਕੈਲੇਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਹਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ (28) ਹੱਥੋਂ ਫਲੋਰਿਡਾ ‘ਚ ਹੋਏ ਟਰੱਕ ਹਾਦਸੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ‘ਚ ਵੀ ਲਗਭਗ ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਬਣਨ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਨ। ਟਰੱਕਿੰਗ ਇੰਡਸਟਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਇੰਮੀਗਰੇਸ਼ਨ ‘ਤੇ ਵੀ ਸਖਤੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।

Washington, D.C. – August 19, 2025 – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has confirmed that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is seriously considering implementing immigration enforcement measures at truck weigh stations nationwide. The announcement comes in the wake of a tragic incident in Florida, where a truck driver, identified as Harjinder Singh, who entered the country illegally, killed three American citizens while executing an illegal U-turn. Singh, who obtained a Commercial Driver’s License from California, has been charged with manslaughter.According to a DHS spokesperson, the proposal to station ICE enforcement at truck stops and Department of Transportation (DOT) weigh stations is “on the table” as part of broader efforts to enhance safety. Secretary Noem emphasized that DHS is exploring all enforcement options to prevent such incidents, stating, “This should have never happened.”The move follows growing concerns over immigration enforcement and public safety, with the Florida incident highlighting vulnerabilities in the current system.
